post

We work with a wide variety of clients building social media content to post each week. Sometimes, just like writers get “writer’s block,” as digital media specialists we get “content block.” Sounds silly, but it’s true! What do we do when we have one of those days? We reach into our ever-faithful vault of social media content that never goes out of style.

We know we aren’t alone in our struggle. Your business might be struggling to know what to fill in with each week on your social media channels. Check out this list of content that you can always have on hand when you’re not sure what to post.

Post About the Who, What, and Why

You know your business better than anyone else. Why not share that with your audience? Build content that explains to your audience who you are as a business, what you do, and why you exist. Use the following questions to create social media posts that help your audience know you better.

The Who

Where did you come from?
Is it a family-run business?
Who works there?
How long has the business been open?
Where can potential customers find you – both online and in-person?

The What

What do you exist to do?
What products and services do you offer?
What are your hours?
What are your business goals?
What is the most important value of your business?

The Why

Why does this business exist?
Why should customers choose you over the competition?
Why do people need these specific products and services?
Why is what your business does important?
Why do you want to be the leader of your industry?

The list could go on and on of the basic questions that could be asked that you can answer through your social media channels. Work through each of these categories and craft engaging content that will invite your audience to follow along with your company.

The best thing about this content is that it will rarely need to be changed. Of course, you will want to refresh it by rewording captions and updating the images, but the actual meat of the content shouldn’t shift too much from week to week. You’ve just built yourself at least 5-15 evergreen social media posts, if not way more! Keep this content saved up for those weeks where you’re not sure what to post, there aren’t any special promotions going on, or you just feel that your audience needs to be reminded of who you are, what you do, and why you do it.
